Kinja'd!!!

I want to see all your cars, ALL OF THEM. or at least the ones you have pictures of. I know not every one here is 24 years old so some of the lists could be 20-30 cars long but who cars. Tell us what you've had how/why you got them, and why you moved on. We love cars that's why we come here, take some time to look back on your past loves, and the ones you didn't love so much.

My first "Iggy" (named after Takumi Fujwara's sidekick) 92 Camry LE 4 cyl Auto. I had it about 13 months

Kinja'd!!!

Number 2 My first stick. "Kenji" 99 Civic EX four door. I got it after the Camry's trans went poop. I had her for maybe 8 months because I saw something on CL I had to have.

Kinja'd!!!

Number 3. 1991 Civic STD hatch. My baby "Mary Jane". A hot red head just like Peter Parker's girl. I actually bought this car, and sold the 99, because I knew I would love it. This girl was all mine for 2.5 YEARS . I had two other vehicles in the time I had Jane.

Kinja'd!!!

Number four4. "The Bullfrog" 98 Tacoma 3.4l V6 five speed. with T100 leaf springs (we never got around to lifting the front). I kind of inherited this car from my Dad. We lived in Wi, and he was relocated to CT by his employer, and given a Tundra so he left me his Tacoma THANKS DAD!. I had it for about 5 months, but lost my job so I couldn't keep two cars I sold it and gave my Dad the money. Even though I didn't have it long I loved this truck. It was great for everything from hauling trash, to moving stuff, to playing in the mud. Heck I even did a little drifting with this beast.

Kinja'd!!!

THEN THERE'S THIS F@#$%R!

number 5. a 94 Mazda MX-6 2.3l five speed named Alice. I bought this car 6 months after selling the Tacoma. I had gotten a pizza delivery job and felt like the Civic's 220,000 miles were a bit to much. I bought the Mazda and planned to drive it while I rebuilt the Civic's engine. The only problem was The Mazda had more problems the the Civic. This piece left me stranded on the way back from a delivery, and I left it there. I let my buddy pick it up and he left it in his yard till I payed it off, then he crushed it. So at least there was a happy ending.

Kinja'd!!!

Number 6. my Green 97 four door GSR named Bulbasaur. Getting this car was bitter sweet. On the one hand I had a GSR, being a Honda guy I held the GSR up pretty high in my mind. On the other hand I had lost my sweet Jane. IN June of 2012 I was rear ended my an Olds Aurora. Which totaled my mostly rust free 91 Civic.

Kinja'd!!!

It was a bit of a basket case, but I loved it until the throttle started randomly sticking, and I realized it had a lot of other issues that I hadn't noticed because I was grinning to much. This cars front tires were put trough a lot of torture. it is still the fastest thing I've ever owned, and Just look at that redline.

Kinja'd!!!

Numbern 7. 97 Honda Accord EX sedan named "Lapras". After 7 months the little problems on the GSR got to be a bit to much so I put it up for trade on CL asking for a 5 speed hatch, or a small pick up. A dude from North Dakota responded with this Accord and it looked like a good deal to me. I actually liked this car a lot. The F22 is a good torquey engine, and the 5 speed had a good feel. But it had some pretty bad rust on the driver's side, and I just don't NEED four door in life so it seemed like a waste. I had the one for 9 months.

Kinja'd!!!

number 8. "Charmander" 2001 Civic EX coupe. This car came to me. I worked at a Ford Chrylser Dealership selling cars, and this one came in on trade. I wasn't planing on buying a new car, but I just kinda fell in love with this one. The first time I walked over to our fresh trade ins and saw this car I knew I might have to buy it. A week later I brought her home. I've had it for 9 months now, and I'm itching for a new car lol, but I've got a payment, and I really can't complain. This car is a bit bland, and very slow, but rust free, and reliable.

Kinja'd!!!

Who knows what number 9 will be, or when for that matter.

Kinja'd!!!

I've debated buying a TL, or TSX many times. It just seems like the logical step up from a Civic, but I end up A not finding a manual close enough, or B buying something cheap. I do love me some cheap cars.

Having two cars is fun. Especially when they're old. I remember one day I lost the key to my 1991 Civic. I got tired of looking and started it with the key to the Mazda. I used that key for both cars for about a month.

How was the Trooper? I drove a slightly newer one, and I loved it. I've been thinking more and more that I need an old beat up 4x4. A Toytoa is at the top of the list, but a Trooper, or a Dodge/Mistsubishi Raider would also be awesome.

my first was a 95 Explorer. The brakes went, there were mystery leaks, broken leaf shoeing mounts and a few other things. That made way for the silver Sport Trac. Is engine died and when I for it back the transmission was acting weird. Not wanting to deal with that I got the WRX.

Haha. My brothers first car which was a 1978 Mercury Monarch would start without a key.

The Trooper was awesome, but I don't think I could recommend it. I believe they're known for eating headgaskets, at least mine was. The Ramcharger I couldn't recommend highly enough, but fuel consumption is an issue. I've also always wanted a Raider as well.

They are few and far between! It's a 1982 Tercel SR5. No AWD, as with the later 80's wagons, but a great little car. I bought it for $400, fixed a couple things, and drove it to work for a bit while Eva was broken. It has some sort of carburetor issue, but that fixed itself a couple months ago. I love it, wish I could spend a lot of time and money "restoring" it. Gets great gas mileage too.

Car 1: 2002 GMC Envoy SLT: It was technically my sister's car, but I used it from 16-17 while she was at college. It was surprisingly quick but painfully unreliable after 100k. This is the last pic of it before it was sold to Carmax with a cracked radiator.

Kinja'd!!!

Car 2: 2008 Subaru Legacy 2.5i. I got this when my sister wanted the Envoy back. It was an all-around great car that did everything well. That being said, it had a 4-Speed Slushbox and my teenage mind thought it would be cool to black it out. It was actually done pretty well, but I grew tired of it. I sold it on eBay in 2012 and it now lives in Ohio.

Kinja'd!!!

Car 3 (Current): 2007 Volvo S60 R. I was going to get a 2008 Mazda Speed3, when I stumbled upon a used one of these for sale. For under 20K, I got an AWD, Manual Transmission, Leather, Heated Seats, Sunroof, 18" Alloys, Navigation, Bluetooth, 300HP, Xenon, under 50K. 1. 2000 Pontiac Grand Am SE2. Parents bought it. It was the right color. Untimely death in Waco from a high school kid who pulled in front of me and slammed on the brakes.

2. This car . 2002 Nissan Altima 2.5L POS. Promptly traded off for eating head gaskets and being a massive POS. Also, it was the wrong color.

6. Porschelump v2. A 1984 Porsche 944. Most hilarious car I've ever owned. Also, the right color. Not dead yet, so I'm keeping it.

My '01 Integra GS-R - my first and only car, having just got my license.

Learned to drive stick on it, and enjoying every moment of the crispy 5spd. The B18C makes an addictive noise up to 8,000, and the 'analog' feel of the steering and pedals is super communicative. Handles beautifully @ <2700 lbs. Couldn't be happier, especially with one in this condition. After I was born, the first car I ever rode in was my dad's '89 Integra, back home from the hospital, and I like to think that it somehow sparked my passion for cars - so it's pretty cool that my first car ended up being an Integra.

Comptech Headers/Intake/Rear Sway Bar from previous owner, stock otherwise.

Hudson Kindred Spirit. Renault 5 based 3 wheeler kit car from the 1990s. FWD, front-mid engine, 2 seats in tandem. Only about 50hp but light enough that you could lift the back end with one hand. MASSIVELY unsafe and impractical, but fun!

Here's my four.

Number 1: 1990 Peugeot 405 Mi16. Sadly I only had it for five months before writing it off in a relatively minor collision.

Kinja'd!!!

Number 2: 1994 Saab 9000 CS. Owned for two years. It had a few more mechanical issues than I realised when I bought it, but an engine rebuild and and empty bank account later it was trouble free for the rest of the time I owned it.

Kinja'd!!!

Number 3: 2008 Ford Focus. Having come to a first hand understanding of the risks of purchasing a used car, and finding myself able to afford a new one, the deals on Focuses at the time were too hard to resist. I still own this car, and is currently my wife's daily driver. It also hold the record for the car I've owned the longest, as well as the car I've daily-driven myself the longest.

Kinja'd!!!

Number 4: 2003 Mazda 6. My current daily driver, which I've now owned for almost a year. I bought it off my dad, who had owned it since new.

Kinja'd!!!

I've been getting the new car itch a bit lately, but the Mazda would be the car to go and given how good shape it is in for its age and is giving me no trouble (apart from a couple of annoying rattles), I should probably hold on to it for a bit longer.

I think this is the first time for me that the new car itch has come so strongly with a car I actually quite like.

My Peugeot was gone too soon; I was happy to see the back of my Saab and kept it longer than I wanted to because I had put so much into it in repairs; and the Focus served me so well that I managed to keep new car itches relatively at bay (and since my wife loves it it's now not going anywhere for quite some time).

I find that the new car itch is always greater when I have the finances to afford a wider variety of attractive replacements. When I bought the Focus it wasn't out of need as the Saab was still going fine, but finding myself able to afford a new car for the first time was too hard to resist (also, I was sick of the Saab's clunky auto and was ready to own a manual again!).

However the time my new car itch was strongest was just before I bought the Mazda - my wife and I had been sharing the one car for almost five months, which was becoming too much for me to bear. When the opportunity to buy the Mazda off my dad came up it was too good an opportunity to refuse.

It's not mine, but I share it with my mom; our 2012 VW Jetta SE, my one and only car (being 15 & all...)

Kinja'd!!!

Believe it or not, this is the fastest, most powerful car my mom has ever owned. It is the one (and only) car that I have more than 10 hours of driving time in. This pic is one of the few I have on my PC, and it's from a roadtrip to Lake Tahoe last year.
I still remember the day we bought it; September 22nd 2011. The salesman who sold it to us that afternoon said it was his last day, and that this was the last car he was ever selling as a dealer before retiring. We got a good deal on it, and for the past 3 years, it has been driven a very small amount (it just rolled over 16,000 miles)

In that time, it has survived a teenager learning to drive on it, speeds close to it's electronic limiter, triple digit speeds maintained over multiple hours, and a flat tire from hitting a curb (hard).

Some say the jetta is a "slutty sorority girl car". I disagree. I think it's a classy and fast little sedan that deserves more credit than it receives.

May edit later for pictures.

'82 Mazda B2000, got it from my dad when he wrecked his Toyota pickup. The Mazda was gutless though, so he fixed the Toyota and gave the Mazda to me.

'87 Nissan pickup, first car I bought with my own money. Bought it stock, lifted it, cut off the IFS, installed the front axle from a Jeep SJ and 37s. Still have it.

'89 Escort GT. Very fun little beater car

'84 F150, the Nissan was getting its solid axle frontend and the Escort crapped out. Gave it to my grandparents, who still have it, when I got:

'95 Olds 88. Got it from my mom when she upgraded. My brother later totaled it.

'94 Isuzu pickup. 4wd, leaf springs under the axle in the rear, and swaybars. Was fun and useful

'95 Dodge 2500. Pretty blue, modded 12V Cummins, 5spd manual, 4x4 truck. I wish I still had it. Sold it to buy a house

'01 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab, 4.7 V8 with a manual. Got a great deal on the truck, and it was exactly how I would have ordered it from the factory. Later sold it to my girlfriend, then married her

'91 Toyota Corolla. Heinously ugly, married into it, got it going, drove it for a few years as a cheap beater, then gave it to the inlaws. They're killing it

'96 GMC Sierra 2500. excab shortbox 4x4 454. Very ugly, but it's paid for and pulls the camper and all the project rigs my brother and I have acquired. Still have it

'88 GMC 2500 light duty, 4.3 V6 4speed manual 4x4, bought it to flip

'91 Chevy 1500 excab shortbox Z71, my dad bought it new from the local dealer and passed it along to me. I sold it to a coworker

'89 Isuzu Pickup Spacecab 4x4, bought it cheap because I thought it would be as good as my first one. It wasn't, and is now somewhere in Nevada, still going

'04 RAV4. Wife's current ride. We were looking at much higher-priced vehicles, but the wife drove it and needed it. It's the bigger 4cylinder and a stick

'95 Saturn SW2. Needed a small beater car after we gave the Corolla away. Speed limit on 2-lanes is 55 here, which means it gets a consistent 33-38mpg. Also is much more fun than it should be

And the newest acquisition is a '66 F100 pickup. My uncle's dad bought it brand new, then passed it to my uncle, then to my brother, and now I have it. We roadtripped it to Bonneville a few years ago and had a blast. I bought it from him and don't have any solid plans for it yet, just wanted to keep it in the family

Next will probably be a small 4door car to replace the Saturn, Fit SI if they ever make it, or a used Civic SI maybe?

Here's my first car....a 1968 VW.

Kinja'd!!!

This pic was taken in 1977 when I was 17. Shortly after this was taken , I blew the motor-I cracked the case an a couple places.

I ended up putting in a new motor that cost more then the car did originally. I'm a little fuzzy on the details (it was almost 40 years ago), but it was a big barrel motor (over 2 liters if I remember correctly) with dual carbs and a loud as hell exhaust. No heat in the winter got kinda old after one winter....I put the stock heater boxes back on and ran with a fairly stock exhaust.

Those whitewall tires were recap tires...they cost me 9 bucks a piece. I did eventually get better tires.

Look up "lift off oversteer" and this would be a good example. I could easily keep up with my buddies in their Trans Ams as long as the roads were twisty enough.

Kinja'd!!!

Started with a brand new Golf Trendline in 2010 when I began work after university. Low trim level, but pretty tossable and a great car to be in. I had it 3 years until...

Kinja'd!!!

... it caught fire. No idea how (well not unless VW tells me) and it was only a few months from the end of my lease (Dec 2013 vs Aug 2014). I replaced it with its cousin...

Kinja'd!!!

... which is a used 2010 Golf Sportline. I like German engineering and the hatchback form has proven infinitely practical. People have asked me why I replaced a car that caught fire with the same model but really it's a matter of statistics because there was nothing I did that caused the problem, so realistically it could happen to any vehicle. Once the value of my loan and the value of the car get closer together, I'm going to trade it in for a Mk7 GTI in white and 3 door so no one notices (which I had planned to do when I turned in the original lease).
